I don't remember laughing as much at an episode in years as I did with this. Yes, the Penn State jokes were overused, but unlike virtually every other running gag they didn't get old. And knowing they would be used again made it funnier for once. Cartman's constant Yo Momma jokes weren't as good, but still better than normal.
That being said, this was probably a B or B+. I've never liked Mysterion, who was written to rip on the current "dark" superhero movie trend, and other than giving Kenny more to do there wasn't a purpose for his reappearance. Also surprised it took Matt and Trey this long to rip on agnostics, and that wasn't great either. But the funny parts outweighed that by much.
It'll be interesting to see how the show plays out in its 20th season, as yesterday Comedy Central renewed it until then. I'll still be here. And I'll be getting up this season's reviews soon.
