Being away for a few days last week, I was unable to see the episode. And again, I had nothing to say about it before it happened. (Aside from possibly featuring Tong Lu Kim, who generally is good.) Which is the second time so far this run.
At first glance, this just seemed to be a standard episode with one good plot and one bad one. The pronunciation of city as "shitty" hasn't gotten old, which is one of the few running gags that hasn't, and the Japanese guys were funny also. And for a while, this was enough to keep the episode going against a standard Butters plot, one where yet again his naivete causes him to get into a shitload of problems. Funny in "Cartman Sucks" and "Butters' Bottom Bitch," but not here. And Butters was the only kid here, though honestly I didn't notice that until reading another review.
Then, as has been the case of late, the third act was a total ass pull. So Tong Lu Kim is actually a white guy, who was Butters' therapist all along. Great. Another stupid retcon done simply to get a few bad jokes, this time of "Psycho." Ruining one of the better supporting characters wasn't something that ever had to be done.
At best a low third, more likely a fourth for the shitty ending. I would have thought Matt and Trey would learn a lesson from their treatment of Mr. Garrison. Seems unlikely.
